My
Story
Growing up, my mother often suffered from neck pain, and whenever I could, I would try to relieve her discomfort with a gentle massage. She was always amazed at how quickly I could find the exact spots that needed releasing. To me, it felt like the body was trying to communicate, and all I had to do was listen.
Throughout my life, I’ve been fascinated by how the body works—why it reacts the way it does—and I’ve always tried to pay attention to what it was telling me. When I was 22, I broke my foot and had to inject myself daily to prevent blood clotting. This experience sparked my curiosity about acupuncture. I wondered, "Would it make a difference to my body depending on where I inserted the needle?" I had heard of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture before but had never truly explored it. That’s when I dove deep into the philosophy of this ancient form of medicine, and I was immediately captivated.
I was blown away by the concept of treating the root cause of a health issue rather than just the symptoms. I had found a profession that allowed me to ask, "Why?”. It felt like I had discovered my purpose—helping people heal using what I affectionately call "little pins," the acupuncture needles.
I decided to enroll in Darren Rose's three-year diploma course. I was drawn to the small class sizes, with only three students, and the course's strong foundation in Taoist tradition. We delved into the beautiful philosophy and lifestyle behind it, studied the acupuncture points in detail, and spent countless hours practicing pulse diagnosis and mastering needle techniques. I practiced my needle insertion technique daily for months, aiming to perfect it.
Upon completing the three-year course, I began working immediately and continued expanding my knowledge through CPD courses, including stroke rehabilitation acupuncture, tongue diagnosis, and Chinese herbal medicine.
